MACHINERY MARKET REPORT DECEMBER 2004

By Graham Eccles, Principal, Qld Machinery Auction Services.

OVERALL MACHINERY SALES FOR 2004:
New equipment was still selling well until the end of June and many of the Franchise Dealers we talk to indicated that the New Equipment side of their business is still buoyant. Used Agricultural Equipment sales are steady with interest still strong for Earthmoving and Transport Equipment in recent times. The exchange rate will put pressure on the current-model low-houred equipment if it continues around the 80cent mark. Demand for trailers and dollies is also strong with interest coming in from QLD & NSW consumers.

Looking toward 2005 - let's hope we continue to see the welcome change to the season and that we can get some water to run.

In closing, we at Qld Machinery Auction Services would like to extend the best of wishes to everyone and hope you can enjoy the best possible time over the Christmas break. We look forward to renewing our relations in the New Year.
