Machinery market June addition 2003
Second-hand machinery sales still strong
Graham EcclesThe sale of quality second-hand machinery is still buoyant as buyers from all States are looking to source quality equipment. Buyers are prepared to travel past distances for the right machine.
This was no more evident than our last on line auction that closed on the 22nd of May. In that particular auction some of the items we sold included:
John Deere 9610 combine harvester that was located in the Geralton region of Western Australia to a buyer from the central highlands in Queensland
Caterpillar 623 B scraper located in the moree district of New South Wales to a buyer located in Rockhampton Qld.
Case 9370 located at Warren New South Wales to a buyer in northern Victoria,
Grader blade located near Surat in southwest Queensland to a buyer from the Toowoomba region.
Who would have thought a few years ago we would be reaching across Australia to access buyers of major plant in such a way.
The clearing sales are still well attended and buyers continue to support the industry and with any sort of break in the season I can't see how prices shouldn't remain sound for good second-hand equipment.
Even with the timber treatment guidelines uncertainty sales of earth moving equipment are continuing as was also evident at our most recent machinery auction at our Dalby auction yard.
Talking with many of our clients and there is becoming a shortage of good quality low hour front wheel assist agricultural tractors .
For those looking at borrowing against their equipment purchases there are some quite attractive interest rates around.
